MANCHESTER — It was a closely-fought game for three innings, but eventually Coffee County was able to plate a single run in the fourth and held on for a 4-1 win over Shelbyville Central on Thursday night.
After cracking the scoreboard in the fourth, Coffee County played add on with a pair of runs in the fifth inning before Shelbyville Central got on the board with a run in the bottom of the sixth.
Nick Johnson recorded the only RBI for the Eagles on Thursday night.
Carston Williams led the Eagles at the plate with a 2-for-3 night, while Caleb Molder and Kyler Trice each singled.
Marquis Wilson went 4 1/3 innings for Shelbyville and allowed two runs on two hits, neither of which were earned, while striking out a pair.
Arye Kavanaugh pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on four hits, while also striking out two.
The Eagles hosted Central Magnet on Friday night, however results were unavailable at press time.
On Saturday, the Eagles wrap up their home slate with Senior Day against Tullahoma at 2 p.m.
