Shelbyville Central had a rough go of it in district action in a two-game series against Coffee County.
The Red Raiders took advantage of several Eagle errors to take Game 1, 8-1, and capped the series with a 3-0 win on Thursday night.

GAME 1
Coffee Co. 8, SCHS 1
Game 1 against the Red Raiders was a tough one for the Eagles as Shelbyville Central was hampered by six errors in an 8-1 loss to Coffee County.
For the better part of the first three innings, Shelbyville hung tough with the Red Raiders and kept the game in a scoreless deadlock.
It wasn’t until back-to-back three-run innings by the Red Raiders did the game tilt in favor of the visitors.
Shelbyville rallied for a single run in the bottom of the sixth frame only to see Coffee County answer with two more in the top of the seventh.
In total, Coffee County hammered out eight hits, including a double, triple and a home run
Shelbyville Central was limited to just two singles by Carston Williams and Kyler Trice.
Marquis Wilson got the start for the Eagles and went 6 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits, only three of which were earned.
William Bobo pitched the final 1/3 inning in relief and recorded a strikeout.

While Coffee County was able to plate three in the inning, the game never felt truly out of reach.
