Mr. Danny “Poppy” Fletcher, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at his home, under the loving care and comfort of his family and Willowbrook Hospice.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Ben Fletcher will officiate and burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born July 2, 1946, in Beechgrove, Tennessee, to the late Thurman and Wilma Fletcher. He was a retired poultry farmer, a proud grandfather, and a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Regina Peoples, and a sister, Wanda Sue Carter.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Fletcher, of Shelbyville; two sons, Glen (Becky) Fletcher, of Morristown, Tennessee, and Daniel “Dutch” (Tanika) Merrett, of Shelbyville; two sisters, Phyllis (Johnny) Rawls, and Deborah (Wayne) Reynolds, both of Foley, Alabama; four brothers, Terry Fletcher, of Shelbyville, Buddy (Dianne) Fletcher, of Tullahoma, Ronnie Fletcher, of Shelbyville, and Donnie Fletcher, of Foley, Alabama; six grandchildren: Nikkia Rowlett, Amy Rowlett, Glen Fletcher, Jr., Austin Blaine Fletcher, Stephanie Fletcher, and Eli Merrett; and two great-grandchildren, Maxwell Nunez and Maylena Nunez.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
