MURFREESBORO — It was by no means an offensive masterpiece by either squad on Friday night.
After mustering up just 11 first-half points, the Siegel Lady Stars rallied past Shelbyville Central, 29-27, in a low-scoring affair.
Eaglette Lanaya Young was the only player in the contest to reach double figures.
She finished with 10 points, with six of her total coming in the first half.
She also went 4-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Paige Blackburn chipped in eight for the Eaglettes, including two, first-half three-pointers.
Shelbyville led 7-5 after the first quarter and after piling on 11 in the second frame, led 18-11 at the intermission.
Siegel flipped the script after the half and held the Eaglettes to just four points in the third quarter, which came on a pair of baskets by Young.
That theme continued into the fourth quarter as the home team was able to outscore Shelbyville 9-5 to close the game out for the slim margin of victory.
The Eaglettes will be back in Rick Insell Gymnasium on Tuesday, hosting White County at 6 p.m.
