WINCHESTER — Shelbyville Central's Golden Eaglette soccer team fell 1-0 on the road at Franklin County on Tuesday evening in a key District 8-AAA match.
The teams tied 1-1 in an earlier meeting.
"Franklin County really dictated the play of the game and we struggled to find any way out of our half. Our girls had small moments of creative attacking play, but we couldn’t find a rhythm and their midfield took control," Shelbyville Central coach Chris Fritz said.
"I am proud of our two centerbacks Ashleigh Pridmore and Jessica Velasquez who were under tremendous pressure all night but managed to keep the score close to even."
The Eaglettes (3-4-1, 2-1-1) travel for a district contest at Lincoln County on Thursday night at 6:30.
