It was an up and down week for the Shelbyville Central tennis teams.
On Tuesday, the Tullahoma boys team defeated Shelbyville Central, 7-0, while the Eaglettes led the Lady Wildcats, 4-2, when the match was called due to weather.
It was a tough afternoon for the Eagles as Tullahoma collected a clean sweep over the Eagles.
No. 2 seed Justin Spence posted the closest singles match, but fell to Jackson Clemmons, 8-3.
On the girls side, Shelbyville got a big leg up in singles action from the top three seeds.
Senior Ainsley Noel made quick work of Laila Lusk and took an 8-1 victory at the No. 1 seed.
No. 2 seed Caitlyn Burdick and No. 3 Vivian Fernandez also picked up big singles wins, with Burdick claiming an 8-2 win, while Fernandez took an 8-1 win.
Noel and Burdick also won the No. 1 singles match in convincing fashion, 8-2, but the second doubles match was called due to rainy weather.
The match will be finished during the second meeting between two schools later this spring.
