The Green Thumb Challenge was held again this year at the Bedford County Fair, featuring 35 entries.
The purpose of the challenge is to help decorate the fair grounds and to develop the horticulture department of the fair.
There were four divisions: individual, youth, business or organization and garden club.
This year’s winners were as follows: individual, Frances Baucom, Naomi Luna and Lynn Hulan; youth, Kathryn Gilmore, Ike Landers and respectively Tucker, Tanner, Grady and Weston Johnson; business, M&L Greenhouse, Bedford Moore Co-op, Boyce Limousine Cattle; garden club, Town & Country–Barbara Blanton and Nancy Fayard and Volunteer Garden Club–Ann Spencer.
The Best of Show was selected from the four division winners and this year’s Best of Show Award was presented to youth winner, Kathryn Gilmore.
