Hazel Burks Gallagher Brannon of Wartrace, 98 years young, passed early Wednesday morning October 6, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford.  

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 10th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Don Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M.  Family requests masks be worn at all services. 

Hazel was born July 8, 1923 in Bedford County to Samuel Emmett Burks and Vassie Marr Burks.  She retired from Duck River in 1988 after 42 years of service.  Shortly thereafter she began working in the office of Gallagher Guitar Co. until she was 87 years young.  She was a member of Locke's Methodist Church in Almaville, TN. 

Mrs. Brannon was preceded in death by her first husband, J.W. Gallagher, her second husband, Earl Brannon and a son, William Edward Gallagher.  She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline Cornelison, Mildred Swain, Frances Childress, Ruth Thompson, Grace Reynolds; one brother, Charles Burks and a great-granddaughter, Rachel Beth Harris. 

She leaves behind a son, Don Gallagher (Jean) of Wartrace; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Gallagher of Fort Worth, TX., four grandsons, John Gallagher (Jessica) of Chicago, Ill., Wes Gallagher (Stephanie) of Cookeville, Tn., Stephen Gallagher (Andrea) of Bell Buckle, David Gallagher (Tinna) of Milledgeville, GA. and a granddaughter, Sharon Beth Harris (Kevin) of Waterford, TX., sixteen great-grandchildren, Haylee, Cassie, Brayden, Bryson, Barron and Kerrigan Gallagher of Cookeville; Harrison and Emily Gallagher of Chicago, ILL.,; D.J., Marion Hazel and Ragan Beth Harris of Waterford, TX., Easton and Lennon Gallagher of Bell Buckle and Hazel, Pearl and Stella Gallagher of Milledgeville, GA.  She is also survived by fifteen nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
