UNIONVILLE — Westwood Middle just had too much offensive firepower in the tank for the Community Middle Viqueens.
Jules Ferrell scored a game-high 24 points and led the Lady Rockets past Community on Monday night, 49-24.
Westwood jumped on the Viqueens out of the gate and posted a 15-3 advantage after the first period.
That score ballooned by halftime to a 27-10 Lady Rocket advantage.
Community rallied for nine points in the third quarter but couldn’t overcome the earlier deficit as Westwood closed the game with a 7-5 advantage in the fourth period.
Jayla Mangrum was the top scorer for the Viqueens with seven points, while BRailey Whitehead and Isabella Schlatter each added four points.
