Janice L. Dennis (Cass) Holt, age 76, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Funeral service was Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Bro. Steve Murphree officiated. Visitation was from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Janice was born, May 30, 1948, to the late Dexter D. and Myrtle Vinson Dennis, in Cookeville.
She loved reading, gardening and spending time with her family. The holidays were her favorite time of the year and she enjoyed decorating, baking, and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid Alabama football fan and loved Tennessee Walking Horses. Her career spanned over 40 years owning and operating many businesses, including auto and equine auctions, auto and marine dealerships, and buying and selling antiques.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, A.P. Sonny Holt, in 2017.
She is survived by her two sons, Greg (Miranda) Cass, of Shelbyville, and Michael R. Cass, of Jasper; two sisters, Joyce (Danny) Sutton and Brenda (Larry) Henson; grandchildren, Logan (Blake) Willis of Stevenson, AL, and Reed Cass, of Severance, Colorado, Adrian Cass and Oscar Santiago Cass; great-grandchildren, Finley and Ella Grace Willis, both of Stevenson, AL; and step-daughter, Megan (Jay) Holt Seeman.
Feldhaus memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
