Jason Wayne Wright was freed from the chains of addiction on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Jason was born on April 2, 1985 in Columbia, Tennessee.

He was the son of Gary Wayne Wright and the late Janice Yvonne Poarch Wright. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Evelyn Cochran Ratcliffe. He is also survived by his son, Caleb Thomas Wayne Wright, several aunts, uncles, cousins, the mother of his son, Kalli Burrahm, a special friend, Connie Endsley and his high school friends, the DLB boys and girls.

Many knew Jason only through the lens of the addictions he battled for years. That wasn't the real Jason though, and those fortunate enough to truly know him recognized him as one who would give the clothes he was wearing to help a friend in need (if he wasn’t mad at you at the time) and one who considered his close friends to be like brothers and sisters, which he often called them. He was fiercely loyal to his friends; he could relate to anyone and make anyone feel at ease, and he was loved by many.

But the chains that bound him were stronger than anything he could do on his own. He fought this battle for years until the Lord decided to bring him home.

Jason loved fishing, 4-wheeling, the outdoors, and especially his son.

A memorial service is planned at Doak-Howell Funeral Home on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at 3 p.m. with visitation beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made toward Jason’s final expenses.
