Jerry Wilburn Dye, 83, of Shelbyville died Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Rev. Jimmy Gray, Stanley Smotherman and David Dye officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 12 noon.
He was a native of Bedford County; retired heavy machine operator for Bedford County Highway Department; a member of Calvary Baptist Church and former member of the Tennessee Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Powers Dye Sr. and Sally Elizabeth Jennings Dye; brothers, Doyle Dye, George (Wanda) Dye Jr., Glendon Dye; sisters, Edna (Harlon) King, Louise “Lou” (Milton) Holton and Ann Clanton.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda Jean (Rollins) Dye; sister, Geraldine (Jim) Lawwell; children, Gary (Kathy) Dye, Tony (Linda Sue) Dye, Lisa (Steve) Prince; grandchildren, Lauren (Daniel) Lumpkin, Darrell (Katie) Dye, Hayden (Shelby) Dye, Andrew (Stephanie) Carlisle, Haley (Keaton) Ashmead, Samantha (Alex) Jones, Will (Haley) Dye, Colby Prince, Alec (Nikki Cagle) Prince; 11 great-grandchildren and his faithful companion-Jasper.
