John Coy “J.C.” Bonner, age 79, of the Richmond community, passed away early Saturday, May 7, 2022, at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on August 15, 1942, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Coy and Frances Redd Bonner.Along with his parents he was preceded in death by: sister, Jean Jones; and brothers, Harold and Jimmy Bonner.
J.C. retired from American Can after 22 years of employment. In his free time he enjoyed raising beef cattle.
He is survived by loving wife of 58 years, Judy Freeman Bonner; two sons, Keith and Troy Bonner; 2 granddaughters, Stephanie Martin and Julie Woods; five great-grandchildren, Allison and William Woods, Kaylee, Caden and Adaline Martin; two sisters, Lelia Brannon and Connie Brock; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will start at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
