Funeral services for Joyce Ann Cruse, age 75, of Shelbyville, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Lovvorn officiating. Burial will follow at Colman Cemetery. Mrs. Cruse passed from this life early Tuesday morning, February 8, 2023 at her son’s home surrounded by her family.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.
Joyce was born August 8, 1947, in Nashville to the late Ballard “Red” and Pauline English Farmer. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by: sisters, Elizabeth Cobb and Gene Farmer; and brothers, Bobby Watkins, Eugene Watkins, J.B Farmer and Richard Farmer.
Joyce was a loving, caring, hardworking mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend that loved music, from singing on the radio as a child with Chet Atkins playing guitar to most recently singing karaoke at the Moose Lodge. She was one of the founding members of The Women of the Moose. She was Christian in faith and will be missed by all of her family and friends.
Survivors include: children, Robert Stevens of Shelbyville, Debra Upson of Wartrace and Donnie (Courtney) Cruse of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Brittany (Scottie) Spry, Ariel Upson, David Hardison and Alayna Cruse; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Dylan, Dagan, Zoey, Analyn, Dakota, Madison, Izabella and Rayden; many nieces and nephews; along with best friend, LeAnna Clanton of Shelbyville and her puppy, Chip.
