MTCS 49, Cascade 17

During Wednesday's opening round game against MTCS, the Lady Cougs just had too much firepower on the offensive end of the court for Cascade to match.

In the end, MTCS relied on a monster second half to claim the 49-17 opener.

The Lady Champs did their best to hang close to the Lady Cougars throughout the first half.

MTCS outscored Cascade 12-7 in the first quarter, but saw the Lady Champs match the MTCS production in the second quarter and scored six points of their own.

Still, MTCS led just 18-13 at the half.

The third quarter, however, saw the game spin out of control in favor of MTCS.

The Lady Cougs went on a 13-0 romp in the third quarter and outscored Cascade 18-4 in the fourth frame to secure the 49-17 victory.

Suzanna Crews led the way with eight points for Cascade, while Laina Carter added six.
