Prior to kickoff against Marshall County on Thursday night, Shelbyville Central took time to honor those players who were part of the Bedford County Training School.
The school played at Shelbyville Central on Thursday nights, while Shelbyville Central played on Friday nights.
Shelbyville’s game against the Tigers, originally scheduled for Friday night, was moved to Thursday in honor of the Training School players.
From 1943 to 1950, the school registered an undefeated, 78-0-4 and still still stands as the fifth longest undefeated streak in history.
Those players honored were John W. Singleton, Leonard Singleton, Joe Frazier, TJ Frazier, Lawrence E. Peterson, James Claybourne, Edward King and Larry Roberson.
