Funeral services for Louise Petty Parsons, age 97, of Shelbyville, will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Welch officiating. Mrs. Parsons passed from this life January 19, 2022 at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 12:00p.m.-2:00p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the funeral home.
Born June 8, 1924, in Moore County, TN, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Mary Womble Petty. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Howard S Parsons, sons; Doyle Holt and LaDon Parsons and sister; Virginia Tipps.
Louise served as a 20 year volunteer Pink Lady at the Bedford County Hospital, a member of the Farm Bureau Women, and an active 80 year member of the Himesville Church of the Nazarene. She was employed at Sears and Bedford Tractor & Implement before she retired as a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters Faye Hane of Sunnyvale, CA, Gayle Wasson of Tullahoma; daughter-in-law Cheryl Parsons of Hixson, TN; grandchildren Katrina (Scott) Watters, Patrick Hane, Morgan Parsons, Laura Wasson, Dr. Clive (Jessica) Wasson, Matthew (Kathryn) Parsons, Joshua (Brooke) Parsons, Caleb (Jessica) Parsons; 12 great grandchildren; sister Marie Bobo of Lynchburg, and former daughter-in-law Donna Parsons of Athens, AL.
