Lucian Ambrose Tower was born on December 21, 1948, in Spencer, Mass. to Marjorie Tower-Gaudette and lived with his grandparents, Ambrose and Irene Tower. He departed this life on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Athens Limestone (Ala.) Hospital due to pneumonia. 

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester.

Lucian Joined the United States Marines on March 8, 1966 and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1969. After serving two tours in Vietnam Lucian went to pursue his first love, music. Being a disabled vet there were not many choices in life for Lucian, so he decided to follow another dream of becoming an author. He went to Keene State College and studied English/journalism. To date Lucian A. Tower has written and published seven books of poetry.

He was preceded in death by his wife Kathy Annette Tolar-Tower, mother Marjorie Tower-Gaudette, grandparents Ambrose and Irene Tower and four brothers, Bruce, Billy, David, and John.

He is survived by his children, Lucian Lee Tower, Anna Ash, Hope Tower, Shelly Bidini, John Tower, Martin Short, Eric Tower, and Stephen Tower; stepchildren Sheila Beth Tolar and Jamie Tolar; two sisters, Cynthia Opacki of Shrewsbury, Mass. and Donna Kaestner of Mashpee, Mass.; 27 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

The Tower family wishes to thank the Athens Limestone Hospital, the doctors, and round the clock nursing care of which treated him with loving care and dignity.
