Mary Margaret “Susie” Boyce Smith, age 85, of Shelbyville went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at home surrounded by family.
Born in Bedford County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late John William Boyce and Wilma Gladys Purvis Boyce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Ray Smith; four sisters, Betty Hinson, Jean Stevenson, Annette Ward, and Martha Clark; two brothers, William “Billy” Boyce and John William “Jitter” Boyce.
Mrs. Smith worked for several years at Dixie Grain. Later, she worked in the Circuit Court Clerk’s office. She finished her career working at the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office as Jail Administrator.
Mrs. Smith attended church at Campground Church in Midland for over 70 years until they closed the church.
Survived by two daughters, Theda Adams, and Cindy (Bob) Skuce; a son Jeff (Tami) Smith, all of Shelbyville; a brother Thomas Wayne Boyce of Murfreesboro; three grandsons Derrick (Stephanie) Adams, Clint (Brittany) Adams, Jonathan Skuce, and a granddaughter Elora Skuce all of Shelbyville; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Abel, Aiden, Landon, and Allyanna.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Simpson Cemetery in Rover, TN with Brother Scott Reed officiating.
