Mr. Max “Pappy” Mitrovich, age 86, of Bell Buckle, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, at his home under the loving care and comfort of his family and Alive Hospice.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel.
He was born December 20, 1936 in Midland, Pennsylvania, to the late Milutin and Milica Tepsic Mitrovich. He retired from Crucible Steel of Midland as Superintendent of Maintenance. He then became an owner/operator of his own truck for a number of years, and finally retired after being a baker at Publix Grocery. He loved his job at Publix, handing out cookies to the children who affectionally called him “Pappy.” He was committed to his community during the years he lived and farmed family property in Pennsylvania, serving as the captain of the Ohioville Volunteer Fire Department and as a councilman.
He was an awesome and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A big man with an even bigger heart. He was a talented woodworker even though he got an “F’ in that class in high school. He loved his dog “Ben” and they were famous for the naps they took together. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to garden, bird watch, take care of the wild deer who frequented his back yard, and play golf with his son-in-law Marc. He was always in attendance at whatever sporting event his grandchildren or great-grandchildren were involved in.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Darlene Potts Mitrovich; daughters, Teresa Dail, and her husband Marc, of Old Hickory, and Annette Mitrovich-Willis, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Tony McLean, Milica Parker, Sarah McCommon, Matthew McCommon and Maxwell McCommon; great-grandchildren, Maddie McLean, McKenna McLean, Mellie McLean, Olivia Duncan, Beau Lee Parker, Kolton Maximus Paul Anderson

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
