Ronnie Milton ‘Snake’ Sutton

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021, to celebrate the life of Ronnie Milton “Snake” Sutton, age 79, of Shelbyville, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors starting at 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. followed by Military Honors, presented by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard at 4:00 p.m. 

Mr. Sutton was born on February 27, 1942 in Shelbyville, TN to the late Joe Milton Sutton and Odell Gilbert Sutton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Arnell Zimmerman Sutton. 

Ronnie served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, served 13 years in the TN Army National Guard and was a lifetime member of The American Legion.  He was of the Church of Christ faith. He retired from National Pen as a mechanic and was a member of the Shelbyville Senior Bowling league. 

Mr. Sutton is survived by children Ronnie (Stephanie) Sutton of Wartrace, Scott (Susan) Sutton of Shelbyville, Crystal (Keith) Adams of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Ryan (Tawny) Adams, Brooke (Patrick) Stewart, Blake Adams, Trent (Cameron) Sutton, Keeley Sutton, Chloe Bell; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Adams, Everette Stewart, Addelyn Adams; and sister, Patricia Evans of Shelbyville.
