Sheila Elaine Allen, age 75, of Shelbyville, passed from this life Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at home surrounded by her family after an extended illness.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.
Sheila was a native of Lafayette, Georgia, born May 31, 1946, to the late George and Lucy Coarene Helton Sanders. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by: husband, Eastil Lee Allen; daughter, Penny Mashe; brothers, Buddy, Marvin, Pokey, and Monkey Sanders; sister, Caroline; and granddaughter, Amber L. Allen.
She is survived by: sons, Jeff (Misty) Allen of Georgia and Mark Allen of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann (Slick) Dennis, and Doris Throenberry; brothers, Perry Sanders and Terry Gene “Sudie” Sanders; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family wanted to express the appreciation to Sheila’s caregivers, Jada Bearden and Katie Cook.
