The exhibition building at Bedford County Agriculture and Education Center now has a concrete floor, which will allow the building to host a wider variety of events. The building, which hosts vendors and poultry competition during the annual Bedford County Fair, previously had a dirt floor. The new concrete floor was paid for with a $45,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Bedford County Highway Department did prep work for the project as an in-kind match for the grant funding. Admiring the new floor are, from left, facility manager Helen Raby; County Commissioner Bill Anderson, who chairs the ag center’s board of directors; Jim Tracy, state director of USDA’s Rural Development program for Tennessee; Bedford County Mayor Chad Graham; and Bedford County Highway Superintendent Mark Clanton. For more information about facility rental at the Ag Center, call 931-684-7077.
