Solis’ hat trick powers Eagles

A strong performance in the second half led the way as Shelbyville Central claimed a 3-2 win in a hard fought battle over visiting Coffee County in a district match on Tuesday night.
Edgar Solis finished with a hat trick to score all three goals for the Eagles (5-5, 3-0).
“We made a mistake at the beginning of the game to give them an early lead. We bounced back from that before half time with a shot from Edgar Solis assisted by Emmanuel Leyva,” Shelbyville Central coach Chris Fritz said. “After halftime, they scored another goal when our defense became disorganized. Daniel Juarez assisted another goal for Edgar Solis to tie it back up.”
“Edgar scored one more goal before the end of the half to seal the win. We have to grow defensively and learn to prevent the little mistakes. Coffee came in eager to win and we struggled to apply pressure at times. I am proud of how our boys are learning to overcome the adversity in games by remaining calm.”
