J Jordan Boutique presented its spring fashion show at the Shelbyville Woman’s Club Wednesday, showcasing all kinds of colorful and flowing outfits for Easter, weddings, parties and outside activities.  

Jennifer Jordan Thompson, owner of J Jordan’s located on the public square in Shelbyville, stated to the room full of members that “we are in an era where anything goes.”  

Jennifer’s team combined outfits that pulled inspiration from the 1960s and 1970s, following tiered cut layers and floral patterns.  

The style of tops and dresses for Spring 2022 featured empire waistlines ruffles sleeves, creating a “baby-doll” look that Jordan says is certainly in season.  

Thompson also recommended pulling out your rust-colored pieces. Though usually associated with fall, Jordan says rust is a mainstay this season too.  

Many of the outfits used one solid color—like white, navy, rust, or pale pink—and then added accent colors through jewelry or vintage patterns or shoes. Jewelry, like pearls and pastel colored beads, added not only pops of color but “texture” as well. Several of the outfits featured “stacked” bracelets, helping to pull the outfit together.  

Jordan also featured outfits that could be worn with Corky shoes, which she has in stock at her boutique.  

Corky shoes/sandals feature Memory Foam and a cork-material platform, making them solid and comfortable footwear for outdoor events common in spring. And even though ankle booties are associated with fall and winter styles as well, Thompson said they have been transitioning well in spring styles, offering a cute look with capri pants and dresses. 

 J Jordan is having a spring open house Friday and Saturday, March 25 and 26. Hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
