Shelbyville Central played hard but fell 2-0 to Stewarts Creek on Senior Night on Wednesday.
Stewarts Creek scored the only goals of the game in the final few minutes.
The Eagles (8-6-0) had a few chances but could not find the back of the net.
“Both goals were the results of set pieces and quality shots from their players. This is a huge improvement from our play against this team last year, but we have a long way to go if are going to achieve more in the future,” Shelbyville Central coach Chris Fritz said. “
This could potentially be a team that we see along the way in the playoffs. Nonetheless, We are happy to celebrate this great senior class, but they are obviously not happy with the result. These seniors have really driven our program forward this year. I know the hunger and character of these guys and I know that they will rebound from this set back.”
