A man charged with rape of a child was in a “caretaker” role, according to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested this week.
Joseph Johns, 25, of U.S. 41A South is being held on $150,000 bond at Bedford County Jail after his arrest this week.
The victim ran away from home in 2021 at age 12, Detective Chris Brown of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office said.
“We felt like the runaway part needed further investigating,” Brown said. “That’s when we discovered other details that led to his charge.
