Jimmy L. Wright, president of Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT)-Shelbyville, said Wednesday that he’s “thrilled” to share that TCAT Shelbyville has officially moved to its brand-new campus at 2905 US 231 North, Shelbyville.
“This move marks an exciting new chapter for our institution as we continue to grow and enhance the learning experience for our students. Our team is currently installing new furniture and advanced equipment to meet the evolving needs of technical education and support our expanding programs,” said Wright.
“We’re also working closely with [Bedford County Schools] BCS to complete the removal of our remaining equipment from the previous facility by November 16, 2025.”
Wright said to celebrate this milestone, TCAT (to be recognized as a higher education center for education partners) will soon host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome the community to the new campus . The date will be announced in the coming weeks, Wright advised.
“All our programs were successfully relocated to the new site in preparation for our Council of Occupational Education (COE) site visit, which we are thrilled to say was a successful visit with no findings. The future for TCAT Shelbyville and the students we serve remains bright.”
Bedford County Schools Central Office will be moving into the former TCAT building on Madison Street. See comments from Superintendent Tammy Garrett about their upcoming move in the 10/23 edition of the Times-Gazette.
No word has been released yet on what will become of the current Central Office building (old Madison Street School) building.
