Titans’ amazing run reaches critical point

Titan Up!

That saying has been heard across the state and especially in Middle Tennessee over the past few months as the Tennessee Titans began to make a run for the NFL playoffs.

The Titans earned a wildcard spot and the story has only become more exciting since.

Step back to early September when the Titans started the season with a 2-4 record.

Inconsistent play led to starting quarterback Marcus Mariota being benched and replaced by backup and former Miami Dolphin quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Since then, Tannehill has upscaled the Titan offense and the defense has settled in and become a force to deal with.

With Tannehill under center, the Titans have posted a 9-3 record, including huge upsets over the defending Super Bowl champions New England Patriots followed by a dominating performance in the win over top-seed Baltimore in the playoffs.

Now the Titans have reached the AFC Championship for the first time since the 2002 NFL Season and only their third time ever.

It’s been amazing to see how this team has come together to play their best football of the season right now.

Who saw this coming?

Yes, the Titans are just one win away from the Super Bowl.

Defeating the Kansas City Chiefs won't be an easy task.

The Chiefs have won seven games in a row since losing to the Titans in Week 10.

The team’s success can be attributed from the top down.

Since Amy Adams Strunk became the controlling owner of the team in 2015, she has put the right people in the right positions to build a successful NFL organization.

She has transformed the franchise with the hiring of Jon Robinson as General Manager and Mike Vrabel as head coach.

Strunk also committed resources to upgrade Nissan Stadium and the Titans practice facility.

The future looks promising for Tennessee Titan fans, but for now, the focus is on winning the AFC title and a trip to the Super Bowl.
