Against arguably their most heated rival, the Community Viqueens fell just short in each set played on Tuesday at Eagleville as the Lady Eagles claimed the three-set sweep over the Purple and Gold.
The match got off to a closely contested 25-23 final score in the first set and Eagleville followed with a 25-19 victory to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
The hosts finished off the match in the third set, beating Community 25-21.
Offensively, Community saw several solid individual performances by the Viqueens.
M.J. Simmons recorded three kills and three blocks, along with seven digs.
Breanna Grooms added five kills to lead the offense, while Jacey Collier chipped in four kills and five digs.
Lizzy Beasley added 2 kills, 12 digs and a pair of aces.
Community returns to action on Thursday afternoon for a second road match of the week at Marshall County at 6 p.m.
