UNIONVILLE – The Community Viqueens finished off Senior Night by staying unbeaten with a 2-set win over the LaVergne Lady Wolverines Monday night.
After honoring its six seniors in pregame ceremonies, Community (8-0, 4-0) had a struggle with the Lady Wolverines in the opening set. LaVergne used kills and service placements to take an early 6-2 lead. The Lady Wolverines still led 17-15, but service errors and shots into the net stopped their momentum. The Viqueens led 19-18 before scoring the final six points to take a 25-18 win.
The Viqueens wasted little time getting the ball rolling in the second set. Halli Smith served the first 10 points as the Lady Wolverines made numerous errors off the Community serves.
Community dominated at the net with several kills and finished the match with a 25-8 win.
Community seniors Jesa Moore, Kaitlan Price, Jacie Neeley, Korie Ann Beasley, Jessi Chester, and Halli Smith were honored in the pregame ceremonies.
"Our seniors have been vital to this team. Most of them have been playing varsity for four years," Viqueen coach Tiffany Klages said.
"We are definitely going to miss their leadership and their skills next season," Klages said.
"I'm really proud of them and I'm going to miss them next year."
