Walking Horse Hotel files for bankruptcy

The company that owns the Wartrace Walking Horse Haunted Hotel filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 14. The company, Thomas-Cero LLC, of Murfreesboro, is filing Chapter 11 to reorganize its debt. The company's manager/representative is Robert Mullin Jr. of Murfreesboro.

In its bankruptcy filing, Thomas-Cero LLC estimates it is indebted to less than 50 creditors and has assets of between $500,000 and $1 million and liabilities of that same amount.

The largest unsecured debts are owed to Alliance Laundry Systems LLC, of Ripon, Wisconsin for commercial laundry equipment and a tankless water heater, a $200,000 promissory note to Dominic Nardi of Silver Springs, Florida and $40,000 to Michael and Sharon Root of Tullahoma. The company owes Alliance Laundry a total of $29,011, although $20,000 of it is secured by collateral.

Other debtors include Equity Trust Co. FBO The Aesthetic Eye of Franklin for $99,750, and Realty and Investment Management Roth, also of Franklin, for $437,250. Both of these debts are secured by a lien on the property.

In its bankruptcy filing, Thomas-Cebo LLC lists as assets $856,500 in real property and $25,000 in personal property. The company listed debts of $556,011 in secured property and $240,000 in unsecured debt.

The company lists the value of the Wartrace hotel as $856,500, the full value amount reported in property tax records.

In a listing of other assets, Thomas-Cero LLC reports the following: a refrigerator, an ice maker, a freezer, a popcorn maker, six microphone stands, a 10-foot wide projection screen, 40 metal chairs, and a wood table.

The company lists business losses of $49,654 in 2018 and $99,307 in 2019.
