Undermanned Eagle soccer team falls

Playing without a couple of key contributors, Shelbyville Central fell 2-0 at Murfreesboro Riverdale on Wednesday.

"We were just a little bit undermanned," Eagle coach Neal Gordon said. "We had a couple of good opportunities created by Javier Leyva and Ranfeir Talacios.

"We got a lot of different kids in the game. We're still looking for a formula that's going to work for us."

Gordon also credited goalkeeper Hunter Jameson and the defense for a strong showing.

"It was a disappointing result but certainly but certainly we learned some things that will help us down the stretch."

The Golden Eagles play Lebanon tonight at 7 in Tullahoma.
