Shannon Michelle May Williams
Shannon Michelle May Williams, age 50, of Smyrna, Tennesse, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. She was born July 1, 1968 in Memphis, TN to her parents, Mike and Ann May.
Funeral services will be Saturday December 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church in Smyrna. Pastor Jacob Armstrong will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her loving husband, Matthew Edward Williams; her children, Kellar and Neely Williams both of Smyrna; her parents, Ann and Keith Roberts of Tupelo, MS; mother and father-in-law, Jimmy and Linda Williams of Shelbyville, TN; brother, Chad May and his wife Stephanie of Tupelo, MS; sister, Michelle Payne and her husband Todd of Germantown, TN; brother-in-law, Mark Williams and his wife Stephanie of Gallatin, TN; nieces, Victoria Stout of Tupelo, MS, Amanda Stout of Jackson, MS, Mary Grace Payne of Starksville, MS, and Kylie Williams of Gallatin, TN; nephews, Ethan Payne of Germantown, TN, and Breck Williams of Gallatin, TN; aunt, Lynn Gilbert of Tallahassee, FL; uncles, Lewis Jackson of Phoenix, AZ, James May and his wife Gay of Bruce, MS, David May, Tim May and his wife all of Tupelo, MS; along with a host of special cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Mike May; her grandparents, Drucilla Johnson Jackson and Ed Laurie Jackson and Dow May and Myrl Bramlett May; her uncles, Tom May, Jake May, Fred May, Henry Gilbert and her aunt, Teresa May.
Shannon was a member of Providence Church in Mt. Juliet, TN. She moved to Tupelo, MS in 1973 and was a graduate of Tupelo High School in 1986. Shannon began her college education at Itawamba Junior College in Fulton, MS. She performed with Kaleidoscope while attending ICC and graduated from there in 1988. She completed her BA at Mississippi State University in 1991. Shannon was an MSU performer for MSU special events. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Later, Shannon received her Masterís Degree from MTSU in 2000 and her Specialist of Education Degree from MTSU in 2005. For the past 22 years, Shannon was the Drama Teacher at Smyrna High School. She had a special gift of encouraging students with all abilities and helping them believe in themselves. She will be greatly missed and remembered by all those who knew her.

Billy Harris, Bobby Wells, Larry Creasy, Dow Smith, John Lamb, and Jeff Farrar will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Friday November 30, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church in Smyrna.
