Moral Reconation Therapy is a 16-step program designed to help inmates have a new lease on life. Used nationwide, the program was implemented at the Bedford County Jail last year, and since then, it has seen much success among both the male and female inmates who are selected for it, according to Lt. Chris Cook, who heads the program. Those who successfully complete the program have a lower chance of becoming repeat offenders and ending back up in the jail system. This weekend, a class of 14 male inmates celebrated their graduation by visiting with friends and family.
