Funeral services for Barbara Ann Frisby, age 76, of Shelbyville will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Murphree officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Mrs. Barbara went to be with the Lord Friday, June 9, 2023, at Vanderbilt-Harton Hospital after an extended illness.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, June 13, 2023, at the funeral home.
Born on March 16, 1947, in Shelbyville, TN Mrs. Barbara was the daughter of the late J.C & Daisy Russell Kimes.
She graduated from SCHS class of 1965 and worked with Home Beneficial Insurance and First National Bank for several years before starting a family. From then on, she was a loving homemaker and mother; she also served her community as a substitute teacher for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Shelbyville Women’s Club. She was a big fan of The University of Kentucky sports, the Titans, Braves and the Nashville Predators.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Dwayne Lewis Frisby; and two sons, Paul and Phillip Frisby all of Shelbyville; also her son’s dog “Luke”.
