Carla Freeman Martin, age 61, of Shelbyville, passed away March 13, 2024, under the loving care and comfort of her family and the caring and professional staff at The Waters of Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Edgemont Baptist Church. Reverend Joe Thompson will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 1 PM until service time Sunday at the church.
She was born April 13, 1962, in Pulaski, Tennessee, to Bobby and Guin Lanier Freeman, of Shelbyville. She worked as a veterinary assistant before failing health forced her to retire. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, reading, writing in her journal, and spending time with her family. She attended Southside Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Terry Martin, in 2015. In addition to her parents, survivors include a son, Derrick (Allison) Martin, and a daughter, Courtney Martin Bowling (Brant Horner); grandchildren, Kylee Martin, Ella Martin, Ramsee Martin, Tibb Martin, Aubrey Bowling, and Brylee Horner; YaYa Siters, Terri Horner, Cathy Fletcher, Vickie Landers, Edwina Reynolds, and Mary Fee.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
