Three-day horse show scheduled

If you like to celebrate “Christmas in July,” well, take note that there’s a great event that is planned for June 28-30 at Bedford County Fairgrounds on Midland Road. This worth-while event will benefit local students next Christmas.
Admission is free. But any proceeds donated will be appreciated.
Shows start at 5 each night. Brittany Baum and the Mid-State Cloggers perform on Wednesday. A stick horse class is something special for the kids on Thursday at 5.
As a little “Christmas in July” incentive, $300 will be presented to the trainer with the most entries.
Judges for the event will be Chris Bobo, Johnny Puckett and Paul Robbins.
Of course there is the regular line up for the horse show. On Tuesday, weanlings will be the first out the gate. That night will end with a 2-year-old mare and geldings extravaganza.
The Youth 12-17 walking class is planned for Wednesday. There will also be a youth show pleasure class.
On Thursday evening, there will be a special exhibition of the 2021 World Grand Champion, Justified Honors, with John Allan Callaway up. The horse is owned by Dr. Jim and Lisa Baum.
Organizers note that participants should “come hungry” and have dinner with Eddie Bryant’s crew under the big, white tent. On the menu will be smoked sausage, country ham, hamburgers, Boston butt, barbecue and hot dogs.
Laurie Toone will be performing her “American Flag Tribute” prior to the 2021 World Grand Champion exhibition.
Organizers note the community will certainly want to get a serving of the “world famous” grilled peaches and ice cream which will be available.
Contact the show manager, Carol Missildine at 919-437-6597 or at russellenterprisesllc.com., for rail parking, vendor spots, and sponsorships.
