Delivery driver accused of hitting customer with vehicle

An Uber Eats driver is accused of striking a customer with her vehicle after delivering an order Monday afternoon.
The driver allegedly arrived at the Midland Street home of James Bolin II and accidentally left her SUV in drive as she carried an order of barbecue to the door. The Chevrolet Equinox crept forward and bumped but didn’t damage Bolin’s vehicle, the report said.
Bolin insisted on filing a wreck report, police said. The driver allegedly “became impatient” and backed out of the driveway, then swerved toward and hit Bolin as he ran toward the road, according to the report.
The impact knocked Bolin into a ditch, police were told. The driver allegedly fled.
Bolin suffered injuries to his forehead, a shoulder and a wrist, Officer Jerry Lawrence’s report said. He was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital.
The driver was identified by Bolin as “a light-skinned Black female named Adriana” driving a black Chevrolet Equinox with a temporary tag and a front end appearing to be held together by zip ties. Uber Eats refused to identify the accused driver beyond a first name, Bolin told police.
Drug charges
Methamphetamine was confiscated from a man found sleeping under the Duck River bridge on Highway 82 South Friday of last week, a Bedford County deputy said,
A small bag containing 1.1 grams of crystal meth was in the clothing of John David Wiser, 42, of Crestview Drive by Deputy Clyde Boyce.
Wiser was in a truck with a pipe allagedly containing meth residue, Boyce’s report said.
Charges of simple possession of a schedule 2 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia were filed. Bond was set at $2,000.
Theft
Several boxes left outside a West Depot Street home were stolen and opened Oct. 24, Shelbyville police were told Wednesday.
Security video shows a white man wearing a neon vest and a white woman wearing a black dress, pink cardigan and white hat with the items.
Vandalism
No trespassing signs posted around a graveyard on Church Cross Road were stolen and tire tracks were visible last Saturday, a BCSO report said.
