Shelbyville Central's Golden Eagle soccer team hosted Cascade on Senior Night on Tuesday and claimed a 5-0 victory.
"It was an awesome night dedicated to this senior group," Shelbyville Central coach Chris Fritz said.
Senior Arnold Avila put the Eagles on the board first with a crisp shot from in front of the goal.
Emmanuel Leyva followed with goal while Kolby Themm finished a through ball from Yahir Cervantes to increase the lead to 3-0.
Yahir Cervantes found the back of the net off a nice dribble effort them freshman Fernando Gallardo scored the final goal.
"We are happy to celebrate these seniors as they have been working since summer to make this team successful. They had big shoes to fill from last years seniors and have done an awesome job navigating the toughest schedule we have ever played,” Fritz said.
“It was nice to see them play well against a very talented and classy Cascade team. I also got the chance to reunite with some kids from Cascade, who I had coached and watch play since they were little boys. It’s awesome to see how much soccer has grown in our community with our travel programs."
The Eagles did a good job of moving the ball across the field off nice passes.
"One big note from this game was how our boys spread out the ball and we had goal scorers from every grade tonight. We always tell the guys that anyone can make the big play and everybody needs to be ready for their moment," Fritz said.
