Shelbyville Central was out-hit, 7-4, by Richland in what proved to be their final game of the Viking Classic, but still claimed an 8-2 win over the Raiders to put a cap on a busy week of baseball.
Jaquai Beverly stole home in the bottom of the first inning to plate the first run of the game.
Leading 1-0, Richland threatened in the second thanks to two base hits and a walk, but Parker Burks settled in and worked out of the jam.

Nick Hopper then drove home two more on a two RBI single to left before Williams eventually rounded for home and scored on a steal.

Caden Thomas then drew a bases-loaded walk before Caleb Molder connected on a single and then Beverly stole home for the final run of the game for the Eagles.
Shelbyville was scheduled to continue play on Saturday, however, rain from Friday night’s storms cancelled Shelbyville’s games on Saturday.
