Enjoy your weekend
Halls Mill held its 20th annual sorghum festival Saturday on Paschal Road. Vendors offered everything from knives to Christmas decor. Local volunteers provided desserts, barbecue plates and entertainment was by Double Shot of Lynchburg. Andy and Lee Huffer, lead singers for Double Shot, are 24-year-old twins from Lynchburg; their father, Tommy Huffer, far right, and Wayne O’Neal of

This fall has already been packed full of local entertainment and festivals. We’ve included several events going on this weekend around the county.
Cavaliers Quartet, Saturday, Oct. 9, at Purpose-Full Posse Place, 1815 Highway 130 East in Shelbyville. Dinner is at 5 p.m. Jam is at 5:30 p.m. Concert is at 6 p.m. Bring a chair. On the menu is pulled pork and beef sausages. Plates are $10. Soda and wateris$1.
A “Jeep Cruise-In” will be held atGrumpy’s, located in the Piggly Wiggly shopping center on Union Street, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9. Music and vendorsis planned.
Newton Nissan South on Highway 231 North will have its annual Trunk or Treat event 3 p.m. Sunday. Organizers note that everyone wanting to participate must be in line no later than 4:30 p.m. Newton provides the candy which will be distributed.
