Freda Elizabeth Curbow Alford, 80, of Shelbyville died Friday, February 24, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Rev. Jimmy Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m.

She was a native of Bedford County; retired owner/operator of Freda’s Styling Salon; a school bus driver for the Bedford County school system and a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Velmer Leroy and Arminta Elizabeth Miller Curbow, her husband of 56 years, the

late William Avery Alford, brother, Howard Miller Curbow, and sister, Margie Rea Winn.

Freda is survived by her daughter, Tammy Elizabeth Ann Baker; granddaughters, Kortney Elizabeth Painter and Kayla Brooke Baker; great-grandsons, KingAjshaun Shaw, Zeyonte Green, Kaysen Scott Smith; sister, Emma Mae Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews.
