He was born September 30, 1968, in Bedford County. Big Rick was well known as a local limousine driver and cab driver. He also drove wreckers for Farrar Wrecker Service, Head Start School Program, and Webb School. He enjoyed driving anything with a steering wheel and a gas pedal. The bigger, the better. Rick took great pride in keeping his black vehicles clean and shiny. Preceding him in death were his parents, Diane Gregory Pope, stepfather, Jack Dempsey Pope, father, Tommy Belk, sister, Nancy Cano, grandparents, George and Martha Gregory.

Survivors include his brother-in-law, Nick Cano; an aunt, Delores Gwin; cousins Lauren Smith and Kyle Simmons; nephews, Stephen Cano, and Lucas Cano; second cousins, Alexis King, Melissa Smith, Bryden Mallard, Daniel Alexander Simmons, and Aria Simmons.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
