Shelbyville Central picked up a big win over visiting Columbia Central on Thursday night, defeating the Lady Lions in shutout fashion, 4-0.
Leading the scoring efforts for the Eaglettes were Jocelyn Hayitin, Paige Blackburn, Emilin Olivares and Annette Solis.
Backing the offense was Emma Rose’s shutout effort in goal.
“We are a young team and had some hiccups in our normal lineup, but the girls responded to the adversity,” Eaglettes coach Chris Fritz said.
“We knew this season was going to be endless obstacles, so we spent a good amount of time this year on character education. We are slowly becoming a strong team and still have many bumps ahead.”
Shelbyville returns home on Monday and will host Tullahoma at 7 p.m.
