Charges of reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated were filed against a Sims Road resident after shots were allegedly fired around 4:20 a.m. Sunday.
Arriving officers Kim Moses, Andrew Koehler and Lt. Cody King heard two gunshots shortly after receiving a call from a concerned area resident.
Officers said they heard a shot and saw a muzzle flash from a trailer on Sims Road near Warners Bridge Road.
Elliott Jimenez eventually admitted shooting the gun to celebrate a friend’s birthday, according to officers. Police noted several empty bottles of beer were found nearby.
Bond for Jimenez was set at $100,000.
Drug arrests
•A bag allegedly containing 1.9 grams of a “crystal-like rocky substance” was found on a man Saturday afternoon at Shelbyville Inn, North Cannon Boulevard, police said.
Luis Colon, 42, was seen by Officer Ramon Castillo “looking down at his lap with intensity” inside a vehicle, then placing an object to his nose and face, a police report said.
That alleged activity led to a search in which 1.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine were found, police said.
Colon was charged with possession of methamphetamine, criminal impersonation, and driving on a revoked license.
•Officers who recognized a wanted man as he pumped gas at a South Cannon Boulevard convenience store Saturday arrested him on drug charges.
Joel Cagle allegedly had 2.0 grams of marijuana and 0.3 grams of methamphetamine in his clothing, police said.
Cagle was charged with possession of schedule 2 and 6 drugs and paraphernalia and fourth offense driving on a revoked license.
•Nine grams of marijuana and two bags containing methamphetamine were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon on North Main Street, according to police.
Officers searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana and charged passenger Adam Lee Mullins of Madison Street with possession of a schedule 2 substance for resale, possession of a schedule 6 substance, and possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $3,000.
Resisting arrest
A woman was charged with aggravated domestic assault and resisting arrest following an argument Sunday at a Blue Ribbon Parkway home.
Rebecca Burnett of Altamont allegedly resisted being handcuffed and being put in a patrol unit, police said. Bond was set at $12,500.
Theft
A man who told police Friday he was “helping homeless people” by providing them a place to stay said a resident at his Sunlite Road home took a cell phone when told to leave Sept. 23.
Jail intake
The following were arrested since Thursday by the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, Shelbyville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, or 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts.
