‘Human bones’ were actually turkey necks

Bones reported to 911 as being human remains turned out to be turkey necks, a Shelbyville police report said Tuesday.

The caller, Samantha Rae Prince, 33, of Barksdale Lane, was arrested when she admitted using methamphetamine and handed a small bag to Officer James Sharp.

Prince was allegedly “startled and visibly upset” when told what the clearly-marked package actually contained, the report said.

Charges of simple possession of a schedule II drug and public intoxication were filed. Prince posted $3,000 bond.

•A leaf blower was stolen from the back of a truck Tuesday at a home on Ike Farrar Road.
A man seen watching from afar by a lawn mowing crew is listed as a suspect in a Bedford County Sheriff’s Office report.

•Three pieces of jewelry were stolen on April 15 from a home on Smith Chapel Road. A suspect was named.
