Ida Virginia Lyle Hart passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, after a gallant four-year fight with cancer.
She was born on August 9, 1934, in Unionville, Tenn., to the late Deuward Hershel and Mary Estella (Jackson) Lyle. Ida had a 32-year career with Verizon and a more than 10-year position at Howard University’s School of Social Work.
She leaves many loving memories to her children, Dia Snowden (George, Jr.), Gigi Hart Bessicks (Lamont), Reginald Hart, Jr. (Andrea,) and Patrick Hart (Carla); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Wilma Middleton, Evelyn Johnson, Shirley Brinson (Harvey), Thomas Lyle (Cheryl), and Geraldine Nicholson; a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Turner Memorial AME Church, 7201 16th Place, Hyattsville, MD on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 9am until the celebration of life at 10am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
