The man at the center of a missing persons Silver Alert has still not been located.

Stephen Elsinger, 83, of Richmond Road in Petersburg, and his wife took their normal, daily nap around 2 p.m. on July 11. When she woke up around 5 p.m., she noticed him missing.  Mrs. Elsinger notified the Marshall County Sheriff's Office and they began to search the area by land and air.

Over the next two weeks, searchers from all over the area, including helicopters and K9's, searched every possible area they could think he might be.  Verizon joined in the search with their Disaster Response Team offering localized cellular coverage and WiFi access.

According to MCSO Detective Tony Nichols, they have checked on every lead and have searched the area daily, to no avail.

Elsinger weighs roughly 160lbs and stands around 5'8" tall with gray hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a blue short sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black slip on shoes with white soles. He also has a tattoo on his upper left arm.  The T-G is also learning that Mr. Elsinger has a medical condition that may make it difficult for him to make his way home.

Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is urged to call 911, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office at 931-359-6122 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
