Martha Elizabeth Parker, age 81, of Shelbyville, passed away April 25, 2024, under the loving care and comfort of her family, Hospice Compassus, and the dedicated and caring staff of The Waters of Shelbyville.
Funeral services were 3 PM Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. William Lynch officiated and burial was in Willow Mount Cemetery.
The family received visitors 11 AM until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born September 20, 1942, in Bedford County, to the late Charlie Glenn and Irene Sutton Smotherman. She had perfect attendance from the first grade through high school, graduating from Shelbyville Central High School in 1960. She was a member of the Red Hats Society, and the Hudson Car Club. She retired from Calsonic of North America. A faithful member of El Bethel Baptist Church, she “always kept her faith in Jesus”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Blanton, and a great grandchild, Aidan Haynes.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Donald Eugene Parker; daughters, Joyce (Eddie) Sanders, of Bell Buckle, and Vicki (Ricky) Blanton, of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Lorie Gilliam, Tiffany Owens, William Lynch, Brooke Smith, and Patrick Blanton; great grandchildren, Hannah Gilliam, Mallory Gilliam, Valerie Rutledge, Richard Owens, Rocky Lynch, Alice Lynch, William Lynch, Jr, Faith Lynch, Dylan Hendon, Blake Haynes, and Aubriella Smith, great great-grandchildren, Macie Henderson and Bryson Henderson.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
